... we have to interrupt this message to say goodbye to Julz.  So weird without her around, adn it's only been 5 minutes.  We made it back to the computer cafe just as her plane was taking off and so we saw her off safely into the air en route to Bangkok.  For everyone in San Francisco, please give her a big hug from 2 lonely broads abroad.  (She'll be staying at our place from August 1 - 7, call and talk to Kord for more info)
well, we're too sad to be funny, so we're going to sign off.  THe end of the story is that we made it back to the beach before we left Indonesia, so our last thoughts of the country are of sun, fun and great diving.
Singapore is just a quick stopover.  Julz might not have melted as expected in Indonesia, but we all feel like we are here.  The humidity is incredible- we like to say that our skin glistens naturally, but who are we kidding, it's pure sweat.  We had the requisite Singapore Sling (the slurred version as the night progressed was Slingers) in the place it was invented, Raffles Hotel. We paid dearly for the privilege (Singapore is NOT cheap), but they were yummy and it was a night spent reminiscing.
Frak went out with a bang - she wanted us to have a last image of her as the responsible tour guide, only to discover that the hostel she chose out of our 1994 Lonely Planet guide has since been demolished. We pulled up and the cab driver said he didn't think we'd want to stay there.
Julz has been wonderful to travel with and without a doubt provided comic relief throughout the odyssey, whether it be circumstances beyond her control or just her amazing storytelling ability.  We already miss her!
Right now Josie and Scotty have no idea where they're going and their only plan at this time is to spend quality time in the immaculately clean, air-conditioned, modern Changi airport (with western toilets!) at the computer and make sure to get an old fashioned Swenson's ice cream. 
It's amazing what we get excited about these days.

There are sure to ba many stories from Malaysia, Thailand and beyond  - and frik promises to update frak on the follies.
